A Memorable Experience at IFEAT 2024 in Bangkok

Last month our team made an eventful visit to the IFEAT (International Federation of Essential Oils and Aroma Trades) conference in Bangkok. The team of Eléonore Thore, Patrice Blaizot and Xavier Blaizot, revealed that this was one of the best conferences in recent years.  From the flawless organization to the excellent setting, the event created the perfect atmosphere for meaningful discussions and discoveries.

This year’s theme, “Shaping the Future, from Asia to the World,” highlighted Asia’s central role in the global flavour and fragrance market, and the region’s growing influence and innovation. As the conference was held in Bangkok, this location proved to be ideal as many key players from China and India could attend, making it an exceptional gathering of clients, suppliers, and innovators. The atmosphere was electric, filled with energy and optimism.

Sustainability and New Players in Focus

While the industry is facing some challenges, new actors are stepping into the space, and it’s exciting to witness their potential contributions to the future of fragrance and essential oils. Producers showcased innovations focused on sustainability, eco-consciousness, and maintaining quality—all themes that resonate deeply with us. We are always interested in sourcing new materials to add to the portfolio and this year there was a very wide selection, some of which will inspire some exciting new creations in the coming months.

Bangkok was an incredible host city, blending rich cultural heritage with modern sophistication, perfectly complementing the spirit of the event. And we can’t forget to mention the exceptional quality of the food too. 

A Fun Moment

A special mention goes to Patrice Blaizot (officially retired after 45 years in the flavour and fragrance industry) who was humorously registered as a “trainee” this year—proof that experience never retires!
